Allentown Animal Clinic Donates K-9 First Aid Kit to Whitehall Police

On Wednesday, May 21, 2014, Officer Richard H. Garner and K-9 partner, Onyx of the Whitehall Township Bureau of Police accepted a K-9 First Aid Kit, courtesy of long-time veterinarian, Dr. Judy Rutkowski of the Allentown Animal Clinic.

The doctors and staff of AAC have enjoyed caring for many of the Whitehall Police K-9 patients for the past 15 years, and the kit serves as a token of appreciation for the outstanding work of these fearless canines. “It is always a pleasure to treat these four-legged heroes, that make our community a safer place,” said Dr. Rutkowski. “In an ideal world, a veterinarian would be available to assist with any medical emergency these teams encounter, but that isn’t always possible. Having a properly outfitted first-aid kit will permit the handlers to administer treatment immediately, and likely lessen the severity of any incident.
